I get people asking me for Instagram tips all the time so I wanted to share a few of my go-to’s!

I’ll start off by saying that I’m no Instagram specialist or pro, but these tips have helped me substantially.

Enjoy!

1. Make it personal!

Share something funny that’s happened or how you’re feeling or something that’s related to a hobby of yours. Create a space that is genuine to you. This will ensure you attract attention from people who actually care and want to see your content. They’ll engage more and be more likely to buy your product or service!

For example;

Today has been so great for many reasons. I finally biked down to the Ottawa farmers market and ran into a really good, old friend who I ended up drinking sangrias with until way too late in the day.

🍷🤷‍♀️ What was your Saturday adventure?

or

While having my morning coffee this AM I was thinking about the episode I watched last night of my new favourite show ______. Did anyone see it?

2. Hashtags

You’ve probably heard this before and you can roll your eyes all you want but they work. Hashtags are an easy way to reach new people who are interested in what you’re posting but don’t yet know about you. Force your content into their feeds! This will give you the exact kind of attention that you want!

The most important part is your hashtags must be relevant. You need to ask yourself who are you attracting and what are they searching for? Define your goals with that post, goals like who you want to market it to and what the end result is.

Don’t forget to change the hashtags from picture to picture to prevent shadow banning on Instagram.

3. Post regularly

This one can be tricky because it is time-consuming, but it’s the simplest tip I have. Posting daily keeps your content on people’s feeds and therefore on their mind. It keeps you connected to your followers and will help you reach new followers. Don’t let people forget about you!

I know it takes time but boy is it worth it!

Try using a schedule app like Unum, Planoly or Later.
