Summer Wedding at Earth to Table – John & Alison
John & Alison’s summer wedding was a beautiful blend of a classic ceremony, garden portraits, and a relaxed, food-forward celebration. The day moved from getting ready at home, to a heartfelt church ceremony, into portraits at the gardens, and ended with an incredible reception at Earth to Table: The Farm—one of the most loved venues for couples planning a Hamilton wedding.
With spring-inspired pinks and soft colours throughout, candlelight, and a private vow exchange, the day felt personal, intentional, and full of quiet moments in between the bigger celebrations.
Getting Ready at Home
The morning began at home, where both John and Alison got ready surrounded by family and familiar spaces. Starting the day this way always brings a grounded, calm energy.
There was space for candid moments, final touches, and a slow build toward the ceremony.
A Classic Church Ceremony
The ceremony took place inside a local church, offering a traditional and meaningful setting to officially begin their marriage.
Garden Portraits at Royal Botanical Gardens (Hendrie Park)
After the ceremony, we headed to Royal Botanical Gardens—specifically Hendrie Park—for portraits. In the summer, the gardens are full, colourful, and incredibly versatile for wedding photography.
The soft pink tones and spring-inspired florals paired beautifully with the greenery, creating images that feel fresh, romantic, and timeless. From structured garden paths to more natural pockets of greenery, Hendrie Park offers endless options without needing to travel far.
Following the Hendrie Park, we all arrived to the venue but immediately stepped away with Alison and John. These two did a private vow reading—a quiet moment just for the two of them, separate from the formal ceremony. These in-between moments often become some of the most meaningful parts of the day. They both cried and laughed together and it was so special.
A Warm, Candlelit Reception at Earth to Table: The Farm
The celebration continued at Earth to Table: The Farm, a favourite for couples planning a Hamilton-area wedding that feels both elevated and relaxed. Known for its seasonal food and natural setting, the venue is perfect for summer evenings.
Inside, the reception leaned into:
- Candlelight for a warm, intimate atmosphere
- Fresh colour woven throughout the design
- A layout that encouraged conversation and connection
The space felt cozy, intentional, and full of life—balancing elegance with a laid-back, welcoming energy.
Blue Hour & Film Moments
As the sun set, we stepped outside for blue hour portraits, capturing that soft, dusky light that only lasts a few minutes but adds so much depth to a gallery. These quieter evening portraits gave John & Alison a chance to step away and take it all in.
A Summer Wedding That Balanced Tradition & Intention
John & Alison’s wedding was a perfect example of how to blend traditional structure with personal, meaningful moments. From a church ceremony to private vows, garden portraits, and a candlelit farm reception, every part of the day felt considered without being overdone.
