Josie – She/Her

In eighth grade, I had the privilege of meeting Annie Griffiths, a National Geographic photographer, whose work ignited my passion for storytelling through imagery. This encounter, coupled with my dad’s trust in lending me his camera on the condition that I learn its intricacies, sparked the journey that led me to pursue photography professionally.

Now, 16 years later, the camera feels like an extension of my hand.

My friends would describe me as chatty, easygoing, with a hint of sarcasm, wrapped up in a bubbly brunette package!

I find joy in crafting, reading, strength training and running and am constantly inspired by art, history, movies and music. I’m dedicated to ensuring you feel cared for every step of the way.

MY STYLE & APPROACH

With me, your photoshoot isn’t just another random set of pictures; it’s a collection of candid moments captured in an artful and intentional way. Rest assured, these won’t be your typical grade 12 graduation portraits—I promise you’ll feel comfortable and natural in front of the camera.

Sometimes, achieving the perfect shot requires attention to detail and gentle direction. During these moments, I’ll provide prompts and adjustments to ensure we capture chic and beautiful images that reflect your unique essence.

I understand that not everyone feels completely at ease being photographed, which is why I’m here to guide and support you every step of the way.

However, there are also times when the magic happens naturally, without interference. I’ll step back and let you be yourself, capturing candid moments of connection that will evoke tears of joy for years to come.

I will match your energy and ensure that every photo remains authentic and true to who you are.

  • I have the cutest rescue pup who I was so lucky to get through a 2025 bride! Her name is Bella and she is a rottie, pit, mutt mix and she has my whole heart!
  • I love reading and I’m very proud of reading 43 books in 2025. I’m always down to chat everything books!
  • My favourite part of being a guest at a wedding is for sure the dance floor!
  • I love knitting and crochet.
  • My partner and I go camping every year.
  • I thrift a lot and have a small collection of old Avon perfume bottles that gives me endless joy.
  • I’ve travelled to over 18 countries.

I currently live in Hamilton, Ontario but work all over. I’ve worked in California, Thailand and of course Canada; BC, Alberta, Quebec, all across Ontario!

Absolutely! This is an inclusive space made with love for lovers of all shape, colours, sizes and abilities.

Yes! I wholeheartedly believe that albums are a very valuable part of your wedding experience. They help you re-live your day from start to finish for years to come. You’ll be able to sit down with those you love and look at it together.

Your relationship is a story and it should be viewed as one!

As a narrative photographer I focus on candid moments with a heavy documentary style. To me, this means I am there to capture your day as it’s happening without interrupting too much.

With that being said, I know how odd it can feel to be in front of the camera, especially during your portrait time so I’m always guiding and helping when necessary.

You must sign the contract and pay a retainer for me to formally hold your date.
