The best part of life is connection. The one you have with each-other, with your family and friends, and the one you'll build with me. I don't just photograph your flowers/dress/suit, although gorgeous, It's your connection with each-other and all these beautiful people in your life that matter.
When Stephanie & Nathan suggested we do their engagement session on his grandma’s property in Aurora, I was so excited! The best sessions happen in environments that the couple is connected to or knows personally. There is a magic when you combine nature with the warmth and intimacy of an at-home setting. It brings out an incredibly romantic feel. Stephanie and Nathan were so game to use as much space as possible and really went with the flow for all of the ideas I had!
As soon as I arrived, I was greeted by a stunning little stone house. Its classic charm immediately set the tone for the session and added a touch of nostalgia. It quickly became a great backdrop for many photos.
Once we stepped inside grandma’s home, the coziness and quaintness greeted me in the best way, I immediately knew that I needed to use the inside of her beautiful home as well. We were so lucky she was comfortable with it and I’m honestly so happy and excited to be sharing these images!
A huge part of my current inspiration is the old victorian age portraits. I feel like there is something so simple about having a classical portrait of someone you love with you. I’ve been using that inspiration in a lot in my posing, lighting and editing.
We also decided to take a wander down to Nathan’s parents home where his dads incredibly cool vintage car caught my eye. I got pretty excited and couldn’t really hide it. I decided to ask if we could use it for a few photos and I was so thrilled that the answer was yes! My lucky stars really aligned for this session because we got some absolute gems.
The combination of the vintage car, the well-loved home, and the enchanting golden hour created a picturesque backdrop for their engagement session. It was like stepping into a fairytale, where every element harmoniously came together to tell their unique love story.
As a photographer, I strive to capture these moments of love, connection, and beauty. This engagement session was a perfect example of how a simple setting can become a canvas for a truly romantic story. When combined with the natural beauty of the outdoors and the golden hour glow, the result is simply magical.
I love how Stephanie & Nathan found me through another venue I have worked at. They’re honeymooning at Elora Mills Hotel and they saw my photos from this wedding here!
