Prince Edward County Colourful Elopement
Jacquie and I originally planned this Prince Edward County Colourful Styled Elopement to take place in May. In other words, just before the wedding season. We had it all planned out and then COVID hit. With some minor adjustments, we tentatively pushed it back to August.
Honestly all of that chaos aside it was so fun and worked out fabulously!
Our Inspiration
Prince Edward County lends itself perfectly to non-traditional weddings and elopements. This is one of the main reasons we decided to organize a styled shoot there. The Grist Mill was such a cool location and I loved featuring Jacquie’s beauty bus.
The Palm Springs/California style is becoming super popular and we wanted to get in on the action. For example, lots of colours link pinks and reds, and an almost ethereal or whimsical look, with funky accent pieces. This styled shoot will inspire the anti-bride, and couples alike that don’t follow normal wedding traditions. For example wedding traditions such as having a big white classic cake, or picking just one accent colour.
Prince Edward County
Elopements are becoming more popular each year and COVID has seemed to amplify that popularity even more. PEC (Prince Edward County) is the perfect eloping destination. There are some great food spots, wine spots and it’s stunning, it was a no-brainer for a venue location!

The entire shoot would not have happened without the incredible team of vendors involved.
Florals – Maison Anthea
Thalia really took our inspiration and made it flourish! Just look at the photos of the altar/arbour set up that we had. Her florals were even more stunning in person if you can believe it. I would absolutely love to see more of these installations at weddings and elopements.
Décor & Venue – Weddings By Brittiny
If you haven’t heard of The Grist Mill then I recommend you check it out next time you’re in this area. The Grist Mill hosts events on weekend and is a pop-up wedding space as well. With that being said if you’re downsizing your celebration this might be your perfect location!
Brittiny did a great job with the tablespace and the décor. It was so classy in-addition to being non-traditional, colourful and fun! I hope to see some of these California trends making their way into Ontario because they’re so fun.

Brittiny got all her table décor from Table Tales

Make-up & Hair – Jacquie K
Jacquie might just be the coolest person I know and it’s not just because she’s incredible at her job and a total boss, which she absolutely is. Her make-up and hair were the most perfect match for the look we were going for. If you don’t have a reason to hire a make-up artist right now that’s fair, but then go get your nails done by this girl or buy her make-up products! Her lipsticks are incredible and a great xmas gift!
Wedding Dress – Sinders Bridal
The ladies at Sinders Bridal House know what they’re doing! They knew exactly the right dresses to bring our vision to life. This All Who Wander dress was so stunning and perfect for what we wanted. It’s got a cool fringe detail on the back and a very lovely but unique design. All the while it’s still a classy dress that’s wearable for many different types of brides.

Calligraphy – Why Come Lettering – Kass
All Caligraphy you see done here was done by Kass from Why Come Lettering. But my personal favourite is the bubbly glasses! The pink really popped and tied all our pinks/pink tones together.
Cassettes – Amy Scarlett
The adorable pink cassette tapes you see were done by Amy and in the end, it tied everything together perfectly. As a result it added such a flare of uniqueness. That is to say, it just might be my favourite part!

In conclusion, thank you to all of the vendors and models involved. Firstly it was a great day that was lots of fun, but secondly we worked hard to pull of an incredible styled shoot.
